The NFL and its 32 teams recognize August as USA Football Month, saluting USA Football as the sport’s leader in coaching education and player development on high school and youth levels.

USA Football Month is celebrated throughout the NFL preseason. USA Football’s Heads Up Football® program, endorsed by experts in medicine, child advocacy and athletes, continues to establish important standards rooted in the best available science. The program is credited for improving how coaches are trained, players are taught, parents are informed and safety is addressed.

UPMC Will Host Unprecedented Gathering of Concussion Experts to Share Best Treatments, Practices

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 18, 2015 – Nearly 30 leading, independent concussion clinicians and researchers from around the United States will convene at UPMC Oct. 15 and 16 with a unique purpose: to propose standard guidelines on the best practices, protocols and active therapies for treating concussions today, resulting in a white paper to be published in a medical journal and shared nationwide.

For the first time in the relatively infant science of concussion, U.S. experts are coming together to discuss what the UPMC organizers call Targeted Evaluation and Active Management (TEAM) Approaches to Treating Concussion. Representatives from the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Defense, among others, also have been invited to participate.

Seventeen Veteran Combine Participants on Rosters

With all 32 NFL teams in training camp, 47 players who attended an NFL Regional Combine and/or the NFL Super Regional Combine in 2015 currently hold roster positions. NFL clubs signed players from 2015 Regional Combines hosted from February through March, including 25 players who were invited to the Super Regional Combine at the Arizona Cardinals Training Facility in Tempe, AZ on March 21.

The inaugural Veteran Combine was held on March 22 at the Arizona Cardinals Training Facility and 17 players who participated in the Veteran Combine currently hold roster positions.

Twenty-six of the league’s 32 teams (81 percent) have at least one 2015 Regional Combine and/or Super Regional Combine participant on its roster. Six of those teams – ATLANTA (three), GREEN BAY (three), NEW YORK JETS (three), PHILADELPHIA (four), PITTSBURGH (three) and WASHINGTON (three) – retain at least three 2015 Regional/Super Regional Combine alums.

2015 Fantasy Football Marketing Campaign

For years, people have labeled fantasy football as the “original social network,” and for good reason. Fantasy football is competitive fun amongst friends all season long, and for the 2015 season, Fantasy Football’s marketing campaign seeks to showcase this fact throughout all ad channels and reposition fantasy as the vehicle to more fun with friends.

Introducing the new “Friends Don’t Small Talk, Friends Talk Fantasy” campaign, friends and NFL stars alike are shown to not have much to talk about without fantasy football.

For the campaign, produced in collaboration with Grey Group, NFL Media utilized some of the biggest stars in the NFL today: New York Giants wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, and Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy and wide receiver Randall Cobb.

NFL & Pat Tillman Foundation Salute Wheaton’s Impact in Education

Chicago, IL–The National Football League (NFL) and the Pat Tillman Foundation are proud to announce that Army Sergeant Joseph Wheaton of Phoenix, Ariz. has been selected as the 2015 NFL-TILLMAN SCHOLAR.

In 2010, the NFL and Pat Tillman Foundation established the NFL-Tillman Scholar award to annually honor an individual who exemplifies Pat Tillman’s legacy of service. The scholarship is part of the Tillman Scholars program established by the Pat Tillman Foundation to support educational opportunities for military veterans and their spouses who are committed to a life of service in and out of uniform. As a result, in part from fundraising through the Salute to Service campaign, the Pat Tillman Foundation funds up to 60 scholarships annually for Tillman Scholars to pursue degree programs of their choice in medicine, law, business, government, education, science and the arts. Pinterest Boards Showcase Range of NFL Fandom through Diverse Original Content

New York, NY – April 30th 2015 – NFL fans are now on the clock – ready, set, pin!

In celebration of the NFL Draft kicking off tonight in Chicago, the National Football League (NFL) today launched a variety of official Pinterest boards at featuring engaging content for fans of all 32 teams.  To support the launch, the NFL has teamed with Kristin Cavallari (TV personality, fashion designer and wife of Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler) and Chicago Bears Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus for web videos highlighting the new social platforms.

Service Members, St. Jude Patient and Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year to Appear

In addition to the excitement of Draft prospects taking the stage at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, several special guests will also have the opportunity to be a part of the proceedings.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® Pick Announcement

St. Jude patient SAMANTHA JONES will join COMMISSIONER ROGER GOODELL to announce a pick during the third round of the Draft. NFL PLAY 60 is the “official champion of play” at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, helping to give all kids the chance to PLAY 60 and lead active and healthy lives. Sam, 13, from Dunlap, IL, is currently being treated at St. Jude for Ewing sarcoma, a type of bone cancer. She is a Chicago Bears fan. Earlier this year, during the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine, NFL Network host RICH EISEN ran the 11th annual ‘Run Rich Run’ 40-yard dash to benefit the NFL PLAY 60 relationship with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Service Member Recognition

Over the course of Draft week, more than 90 service members will participate in NFL events. A service member from the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America will open the Draft by performing the National Anthem on Thursday evening.  She will be joined by wounded warriors from Wounded Warrior Project and eight active-duty service members. A color guard will also be standing during Selection Square during the Anthem.

In addition, Pat Tillman Foundation Scholars and their guests, along with active duty service members from the Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy will be guests at the Draft on Friday for Rounds 2-3. During the third round on Friday, a service member from the Army will announce a Draft pick.

Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Moment

The NFL and the Panthers will recognize THOMAS DAVIS, winner of the 2014 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide. Davis will announce the Panthers first round selection.

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross to serve as keynote speaker

Twenty-two current and former NFL players – including 2015 Pro Bowlers QB Drew Brees (Saints) and WR Devin Hester (Falcons) – will take part in the NFL Boot Camp: Franchising, which begins tomorrow and continues through April 20. The event will take place at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, named for Miami Dolphins Owner STEPHEN M. ROSS. Three players will also attend with their significant others as part of Player Engagement’s Women’s Engagement Initiative, designed to engage spouses and significant others in the professional development and career transition process.

Over the four days, participants will hear firsthand from franchisees, franchise owners, professors and former players, as well as executives at the International Franchise Association (IFA). Mr. Ross, the chairman, and founder of Related Companies, an international real estate firm, will open the program as the keynote speaker. In addition, former NFL players with franchise ownership experience, including Tim Biakabatuka, owner of four Bojangles’ locations, ANGELO CROWELL, owner of five Jersey Mike’s Subs locations, and Van Jakes, owner of three McDonalds locations, will take part in panel discussions.

28 Top Prospects To Attend NFL Draft

Twenty-eight top prospects, who are expected to be selected on Thursday or Friday night, are confirmed to attend the 2015 NFL Draft at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University in Chicago, the NFL announced today.

The NFL Draft, which had been held in New York since 1965, returns to Chicago for the first time since 1964. Chicago served as the location for the NFL Draft in 1938, 1942-44, 1951, and 1962-64.
