Thursday Night Football Preview: Washington Redskins at New York Giants

Week 3 begins on Thursday night (CBS/NFLN, 8:25 PM ET) with the WASHINGTON REDSKINS (1-1) traveling to take on the NEW YORK GIANTS (0-2) at MetLife Stadium.

Washington enters Week 3 following a 24-10 victory over St. Louis. Redskins quarterback KIRK COUSINS completed 23 of 27 passes (85.2 percent) for 203 yards with one touchdown for a 110.3 passer rating in the victory. Washington rookie running back MATT JONES (Round 3, No. 95 overall) rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns in the game.

“Matt had a great game and we saw a lot of positives out on the field,” says Washington head coach JAY GRUDEN. “You also have to credit the tight ends and the offensive line, who were excellent. All around it was good work by everybody, but we have a short week against the Giants coming up. It is going to be key that we prepare like we have been.”
