NFL WELCOMES SPECIAL GUESTS TO THE DRAFT

Service Members, St. Jude Patient and Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year to Appear

In addition to the excitement of Draft prospects taking the stage at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, several special guests will also have the opportunity to be a part of the proceedings.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® Pick Announcement

St. Jude patient SAMANTHA JONES will join COMMISSIONER ROGER GOODELL to announce a pick during the third round of the Draft. NFL PLAY 60 is the “official champion of play” at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, helping to give all kids the chance to PLAY 60 and lead active and healthy lives. Sam, 13, from Dunlap, IL, is currently being treated at St. Jude for Ewing sarcoma, a type of bone cancer. She is a Chicago Bears fan. Earlier this year, during the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine, NFL Network host RICH EISEN ran the 11th annual ‘Run Rich Run’ 40-yard dash to benefit the NFL PLAY 60 relationship with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Service Member Recognition

Over the course of Draft week, more than 90 service members will participate in NFL events. A service member from the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America will open the Draft by performing the National Anthem on Thursday evening.  She will be joined by wounded warriors from Wounded Warrior Project and eight active-duty service members. A color guard will also be standing during Selection Square during the Anthem.

In addition, Pat Tillman Foundation Scholars and their guests, along with active duty service members from the Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy will be guests at the Draft on Friday for Rounds 2-3. During the third round on Friday, a service member from the Army will announce a Draft pick.
