Dual-threat Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton rushed for 107 yards and threw for 284 yards, and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was nearly perfect in overtime, completing 8-of-9 passes. But the game ultimately came down to the kickers. Bengals kicker Matt Nugent made a 42-yard field goal that put Cincinnati up after the opening drive of overtime, and Carolina kicker Graham Gano answered with a 36-yarder with 2:19 left. When Cincinnati got the ball back, Dalton drove down the field into range to win the game, but Nugent missed wide right, leaving the Bengals and Panthers in a 37-37 tie – the first this season.
