- 2:00 PM ET NFL Replay: Chicago Bears vs. Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton threw two touchdown passes to tight end Greg Olsen and the defense forced four turnovers in their 31-24 victory over the Chicago Bears. With the score tied at 24-24, Panthers cornerback Antoine Cason stripped the ball from Bears running back Matt Forte. The Panthers recovered the ball, and scored after a six-play drive with 2:18 left in the game. Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was 28-of-36 for 289 yards and two touchdowns, but turned the ball over three times.
- 3:30 PM ET NFL Replay: Arizona Cardinals vs. Denver Broncos
Denver quarterback Peyton Manning had a milestone day, moving into the 500 touchdown club when the Denver Broncos beat the previously undefeated Arizona Cardinals, 41-20. Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker had a record-breaking day with seven receptions to give him 854 total catches throughout his career, the most catches in NFL history by an undrafted player. Manning finished with four touchdown throws to move within five of Brett Favre’s all-time record, two to tight end Julius Thomas and two to wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, who set a franchise record with 226 receiving yards.
Wednesday, October 8
- 8:00 PM ET NFL Replay: Houston Texans vs. Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey kicked a 49-yard field goal in overtime to give Dallas a 20-17 victory over the Houston Texans. Trailing by 10 in the fourth quarter, the Texans forced overtime on running back Arian Foster’s touchdown with 41 seconds remaining in regulation. Bailey missed a 53-yard field goal on the final play of regulation, which snapped a franchise-record of 30 consecutive made field goals, but wide receiver Dez Bryant’s 37-yard reception in overtime put Baily in position to win the game. The Cowboys won their fourth consecutive game for the first time since 2011.
