The Glazer Family Foundation was recently honored by the Hillsborough County School Board for its efforts to enhance public school education.

“Thank you on behalf of the school board, our superintendant and our students,” assistant superintendent Gwen Luney said during the presentation to Glazer Family Foundation co-president Darcie Glazer Kassewitz. “Your efforts this year to provide these opportunities and scholarships will go a long way. Thank you so much for making such a big difference.” Glazer Kassewitz is the daughter of Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner Malcolm Glazer.

Among the outreach efforts noted by the school board were the Glazer Family Foundation Vision Mobile, which travels throughout Hillsborough and surrounding counties providing free eye exams and prescription glasses to children, the Buccaneers’ “Play 60 Challenge” and “Play 60 Zones,” which encourage students to be physically active for at least 60 minutes each day, and the “Bucs for Books” scholarships.
